After 27 years of riding rides that kept turning, and saving, Disney announced last year that it would be closing its Hollywood Studios theme park, and moving attractions to its new expansion theme park slated to open in 2021. However, now that Disney is having a change of heart, it’s opening up its Hollywood theme park in phases. Three attractions that have closed earlier this year will reopen starting this Saturday, October 20.
The Pixar Universe, a 10-minute park adventure based on the movie about animation characters, will open to the public, Disney says. The dark ride will include characters from the movie. Guests will be inspired by some of the film’s most famous characters, including Woody from “Toy Story,” Jessie the cowgirl from “Toy Story 2,” Mr. Incredible from “Incredibles,” and Buzz Lightyear from “Toy Story.” Expect every Disney child to join in.

Playground, a 42-minute show featuring animatronic figures playing bingo and bringing in children to build a rocket ship with Buzz Lightyear, is also returning.
Besides the Pixar universe and playground, the theme park will also be adding a 45-minute roller coaster called Toy Story Land, based on three more of the company’s beloved films: “Toy Story,” “Toy Story 2,” and “Toy Story 3.” The new ride will have a re-creation of the Main Street USA street scene from the movie.

Now, if Disney would only stop acting so entitled, and build new rides that actually welcome visitors to stay for some of their entire visits!
