Early voting starts in California on Tuesday, and eligible voters received absentee ballots Saturday. But one of the most important votes happening in this midterm election is still to come: Will Disneyland be open for business Saturday?
Disneyland, the top tourist destination in the state, has faced heavy-handed tactics from far-right activists, who rallied at the park gates to protest the museum that is part of the park’s $1.6 billion expansion, which it has undergone since 2016.
A heated online feud between Right Wing Watch and far-right activist group Right Wing Nation over racist and threatening tweets and videos has also added more heat to the debate. The dispute stemmed from a report by Right Wing Nation that claimed, among other things, that Disneyland had gained black buyers, which became a trending question on Twitter. Disneyland said it had not.
For now, the park is open, but workers are not allowed to staff the gate or on the rides.
