Trump’s Supreme Court Pick Would Have to Win the Presidential Nomination Battle First

THE ONE AND ONLY A NEW SHERIFF HAS REPORTED INCOME UNDER $110,000. TONY ROMANO, the president of American Future Fund, a nonprofit, recorded that his income was under $110,000 in 2015 and under $250,000 in 2016.

Donors give millions to conservative super PACs because they believe they will get the attention of Republican presidential candidates. These candidates have little to no support from the electorate. If a politician cannot win by appealing to conservatives, then he should go away and help a right-leaning super PAC take over the party. No one seems to be doing that right now. Will any candidate ever be able to help the GOP in this way?

That process would start with advancing a nominee through a confirmation process that could last nearly two years. Having a vice president not be confirmed for two years to avoid having the Senate vote on him is almost unthinkable. No Republican Senate would vote for the vice president. A negative vote would deter prospective donors.
