Vandals in Connecticut roamed around a white supremacist party Saturday — lampooning the heavily Democratic constituents in Jahana Hayes’ congressional district with an image featuring her face and the words “FAGT COOL” plastered over a picture of a castle.
Hayes, who was sworn in in January, is a black Democrat whose campaign drew thousands of supporters to a Dartmouth College homecoming festivities on Saturday. According to ABC News, police were called to a large group causing a scene and making threats.
Reps. Jim Himes (D-Conn.) and Elizabeth Esty (D-Conn.) endorsed the Massachusetts lawmaker for the 1st District seat following her election.
A Hale and Hearty Productions video shows that some people in the scene at Dartmouth College host section tore Hayes’ campaign image of her posing for an Instagram photo and projected it on the walls.
“What’s that hashtag with FAGT COOL,” the video shows a person saying.
“Ummmmm… No!” others in the crowd say in unison.
“Maybe it’s mean to pin that here,” one person said.
