Stephen Miller has long been a mystery child inside the Trump administration, often outflanked by his boss in media appearances. But on Tuesday evening, Miller was allowed out of the White House to press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, making him one of the most sought-after journalists at the Trump rally at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
Miller was called upon to question Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh at his second day of testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Over the weekend, Rachel Maddow interviewed Miller, asking what President Trump’s team knew about Judge Kavanaugh’s drinking history when they picked him to be Trump’s Supreme Court nominee. Miller said he wouldn’t comment on that question.
